Dr. Molteni, PhD. Joins Skill Building Buddies

WEST HARTFORD, CT—Skill Building Buddies, producers of video-based interventions for persons with autism, ages 3-10, today announced they have engaged the services of John Molteni, Ph.D. BCBA (CTABA President) and director of the Autism Spectrum Disorder Initiative at Saint Joseph College, West Hartford, Connecticut, as a product development consultant.

Anthony Mazzarella, co-founder of Skill Building Buddies said, “Dr. Molteni is a great addition to our multi-disciplinary team of consultants and we’re excited to have him on board. We’re looking forward to Dr. Molteni’s expertise and experience in helping us develop and produce new educational video programs for the autism community”.

Currently, www.skillbuildingbuddies.com offers about 5 hours of educational videos specifically developed to assist clinicians and special education professionals in teaching children with delays in the development of socialization and communication skills. These disorders include Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD) and other emotional, developmental, and behavioral problems. Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated that modeling videos, depicting exemplary behaviors, can be effective in helping children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders develop social skills and daily living skills.

Skill Building Buddies launched the first free-access website (www.skillbuildingbuddies.com) to provide video-based interventions for learners with special needs in 2008. Skill Building Buddies leads the industry in providing award-winning, effective, educational videos to help children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities develop the skills they need to communicate and socialize with others and to perform daily activities independently.
